SEPTEMBER 15TH STORMS
ON SEPTEMBER 15TH NO SEVERE STORMS WERE FORECAST FOR THE AREA. NONSEVERE STORMS WERE FORECAST FOR THE AREA DUE TO THE REMNANTS OF HURRICANE IVAN THAT HAD MADE LANDFALL OFF THE COAST OF MEXICO IN THE PACIFIC. A COOL FRONT WAS ASLO DRAPPED ACROSS PARTS OF OKLAHOMA AS WELL HELPING TO TAKE INTO THE RICH MOISTURE IN THE AREA. ATABOUT 5PM SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNINGS WERE ISSUED FOR CADDO KIOWA COMANCHE TILLMAN GREER AND JACKSON COUNTIES. THESE STORMS FORMED JUST TO THE NORTH OF TEXHOMA AND MADE THEIR WAY TO THE SOUTHEAST AT ABOUT 20MPH. THE STORMS PRODUCED NICKEL SIZE HAIL IN KIOWA COUNTY 5 MILES SOUTH OF LONE WOLF. 60MPH WINDS WERE ALSO REPORTED IN KIOWA COUNTY 2 MILES NORTH OF SEDAN WHERE A 4 WHEEL DRIVE TRACTOR WAS DAMAGED AND ALSO IN MOUNTAIN PARK. IN COMANCHE COUNTY 60MPH WINDS WERE REPORTED 14 MILES NORTHWEST OF INDIAHOMA WHERE 5 TO 6 INCH TREES WERE REPORTED DOWN AS WELL AS 11 MILES NORTHWEST OF INDIAHOMA WHERE 4 INCH TREES WERE DOWN. IN JACKSON COUNTY 60 MPH WINDS WERE ALSO REPORTED AT ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE. THE CHANNLE 7 RADAR REPORTED THAT SOME OF THESE STORMS MAY HAVE PRODUCED GOLFBALL SIZE HAIL AND WINDS TO 82 MPH. THE STORMS DIED OUT ABOUT SUNSET. |

SEPTEMBER 8TH STORMS ON SEPTEMBER 8TH A MODERATE RISK OF SEVERE STORMS WAS FORECAST FOR PARTS OF TEXHOMA. MAILNLY SOUTHEAST OF A LINE FROM KNOX CITY TO SEYMOUR TO WICHITA FALLS TEXAS TO STILLWATER OKLHOMA. THE REST OF TEXHOMA HAD A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE STORMS. A TATIONARY FRONT WOULD BE THE FOCUS FOR THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT AS ANOTHER FRONT PUSHED IT TO THE SOUTHEAST. AT 5PM A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH WAS ISSUED FOR MUCH OF EASTERN AND SOUTHEASTRN TEXHOMA. THIS INCLUDED GRADY STEPHENS COMANCHE JEFFERSON ARCHER CLAY MONTAGUE JACK WISE PALO PINTO HASKELL YOUNG AND THROCKMORTON COUNTIES. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS BEGAN TO FORM IN YOUNG AND STEPEHNS COUNTY OF TEXAS AND THESE STORMS SOON BECAME SEVERE. SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNINGS WERE ISSUED FOR YOUNG COUNTY AS BASEBALL SIZE HAIL WAS REPORTED 2 MILES SOUTH OF NEWCASTLE AT THE FORT BELKNAPP COUNTY PARK. NICKEL SIZE HAIL WAS ALSO REPORTED 6 MILES EAST OF OLNEY. THE STORM THEN MOVED INTO ARCHER COUNTY PRODUCING ANOTHER SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING. QUARTER SIZE HAIL WAS REPORTED AT ANARENE AND GOLFBALL SIZE HAIL FELL AT LAKE KICKAPOO. OTHER WARNINGS WERE ISSUED FOR WICHITA JEFFERSON CLAY AND PALO PINTO COUNTIES. IN JEFFERSON COUNTY NICKEL SIZE HAIL FELL AT CEDAR HILL. IN PALO PINTO COUNTY QUARTER SIZE HAIL FELL AT PALO PINTO. WICHITA COUNTY REPORTED QUARTER SIZE HAIL IN PARTS OF WICHITA FALLS. THE STORMS DIED DOWN AS THE FRONT APPROACHED AND THE STORMS DRIFTED OFF TO THE SOUTHEAST. THERE WERE NO SIGNIFICANT REPORTS OF HIGH WINDS WITH THESE STORMS. |

SEPTEMBER 7TH STORMS
ON FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 7TH A MODERATE RISK OF SEVERE STORMS WAS FORECAST FOR PARTS OF TEXHOMA MAINLY NORTH OF THE RED RIVER. A STRONG COOL FRONT WAS FORECAST TO MAKE ITS WAY ACROSS THEAREA SPARKING SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. THERE WAS ALSO A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE STORMS SOUTH OF THE RED RIVER. AT 3PM A TORNADO WATCH WAS ISSUED FOR PARTS OF OKLAHOMA ND KANSAS. THE TORNADO WATCH INCLUDED KIOWA WASHITA GRADY AND CADDO COUNTIES IN TEXHOMA AND WAS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9PM. SEVERE STORMS BROKE OUT IN NORTHERN OKLAHOMA AND BACKBUILT SLOWLY TOWARDS THE LAWTON AREA FROM THE OKLAHOMA CITY AREA. THE LINE OF STORMS STRETCHED ALL THE WAY TO CHICAGO ILLINOIS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNINGS WERE ISSUED FOR GRADY COMANCHE STEPHENS AND JEFFERSON COUNTIES IN TEXHOMA AS WELL AS MANY OTHER OKLAHOMA COUNTIES JUST OUTSIDE TEXHOMA INCLUDING CANADIAN MCCLAIN OKLAHOMA CLEVELNAD AND CUSTER. IN GRADY COUNTY HALF DOLLAR SIZE HAIL WAS REPORTED 2 MILES SOUTH OF TUTTLE AND QUARTER SIZE HAIL WAS REPORTED IN CHICKASHA AS WELL AS 2 MILES EAST OF MIDDLEBURG. ANOTHER TORNADO WATCH WAS ISSUED UNTIL MIDNIGHT FOR COMANCHE COTTON STEPHENS JEFFERSON GRADY AND CADDO COUTNIES AS THESE STORMS FORMED INTO A SQUALL LINE THAT MOVED ACROSS EASTERN OKLAHOMA. THE WATCH WAS THEN REPLACED WITH A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH UNTIL 4AM THAT ONLY INCLUDED MONTAGUE COUNTY IN TEXHOMA BUT DID INCLUDE COUNTIES TO THE EAST AND NORTHEAST. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING WAS ISSUED FOR MONTAGUE COUNTY DUE TO NICKEL SIZE HAIL AT SAINT JO AND 6OMPH WINDS AT NOCONA. THE STORMS WOULD WEAKEN AND MOVE TO THE EAST. THE FRONT DROPPED TEMPERATURES FROM THE UPPER 90S TO LOW 100S TO THE LOW 80S AND UPPER 70S. THE FRONT WOULD STALL ACROSS TEXHOMA AND BRING ANOTHER MODERATE RISK OF SEVERE STORMS ON SATURDAY. |

SEPTEMBER 4TH STORMS
ON TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 4TH NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WERE FORECAST FOR THE AREA. NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE AREA DUE TO A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM THAT WAS ALMOST STATIONARY AND DRAPPED ACROSS TEXHOMA. THIS LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM HAD CREATED SEVERE WEATHER ACROSS THE AREA THE PREVIOUS DAY IN SOUTHWESTRN OKLAHOMA. AT ABOUT 5:30 SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNINGS WERE ISSUED FOR BECKHAM AND WASHITA COUNTIES IN OKLAHOMA. THESE STORMS TRACKED TO THE WEST AND PRODUCED NICKEL SIZE HAIL 4 MILES WEST OF DILL CITY AND ALSO WINDS TO 6OMPH IN THE SAME LOCATION. THE SAME STORMS ALSO PRODUCED 60 MPH WINDS 5 MILES SOUTH OF CARTER IN BECKHAM COUNTY. |

TEXHOMA LABOR DAY STORMS
ON MONDAY SEPTEMBER 3RD LABOR DAY NO SEVERE STORMS WERE FORECAST IN THE MORNING. HOWEVER DURING THE EARLY AFTERNOON HOURS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE STORMS WAS FORECAST FOR PARTS OF TEXHOMA. ESPECIALLY SOUTHWESTRN PORTIONS. AT 2PM A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH WAS ISSUED UNTIL 8PM FOR SOME TEXHOMA COUNTIES. THE COUNTIES INCLUDED IN THE WATCH WERE CLAY ARCHER THROCKMORTON YOUNG AND HASKELL. SEVERE STORMS DID FORM BUT JUST TO THE SOUTH OF THE AREA EFFECTING THE ABILIENE AREA.THESE STORMS DID PRODUCE NICKEL SIZE HAIL AND WINDS TO 60MPH. OTHER STORMS FORMED NORTH OF THE WATCH AREA ACROSS SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNINGS WERE ISSUED. THE FIRST WARNING WAS FOR WASHITA COUNTY FOR WINDS TO 60 MPH AND HAIL TO HALFDOLLAR SIZE. FIVE MILES NORTH OD BESSIE QUARTER SIZE HAIL WAS REPORTED AND ALSO 3 MILES NORTHWEST OF SENTINEL NICKEL SIZE HAIL WAS REPORTED. OTHER WARNINGS WERE ISSUED FOR JACKSON TILLMAN AND KIOWA COUNTIES. 5 MILES SOUTH OF LONE WOLF IN KIOWA COUNTY GOLFBALL SIZE HAIL FELL. THE STORMS FORMED DUE TO A WEAK LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM THAT SLOWLY DRIFTED ACROSS THE AREA BRINGING WITH IT THE CHANCE FOR MORE STORMS THE NEXT DAY. THE STORMS ALSO WERE HELPED BY OUTFLOW BOUNDARIES HIGH DEW POINTS AND SOME SUNSHINE. |

AUGUST 25TH GRADY COUNTY STORM
ON SATURDAY AUGUST 25TH A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVRE STORMS WAS FORECAST DURING THE AFTERNOON HOURS FOR MOST OF NORTHWESTERN TEXHOMA. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH WAS ISSUED FOR CHILDRESS AND COTTLE COUNTIES FROM 3PM TILL 9PM. SEVERE STORMS BROKE OUT IN THE PANHANDLE OF TEXAS AND THESE STORMS FORMED ALONG A COOL FRONT THAT WAS SLOWLY MAIKING IT S WAY ACROSS THE AREA. THE STORMS SENT AN OUTFLOW BOUNDARY THAT CAUSED SEVERE STORM S TO BREAK OUT IN NORTHERN AND CENTRAL PARTS OF OKLAHOMA. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING WAS ISSUED FOR GRADY COUNTY FOR A STORM THAT HAD 65 MPH WINDS AND HAIL TO THE SIZE OF NICKELS. THIS STORM ALSO HAD SLIGHT ROTATION BUT NO TORNADO WARNINGS WERE ISSUED. OTHER SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNINGS WERE IN EFFECT FOR COUNTIES JUST OUTSIDE THE TEXHOMA AREA INCLUDING ROGER MILLS CANADIAN OKLAHOMA CLEVELAND AND MCCLAIN COUNTIES. WINDS TO 70MPH AND HAIL TO QUARTER SIZE WAS REPORTED. THE STORMS DIED OUT ABOUT MIDNIGHTA ND SENT AN OUTFLOW BOUNDARY WITH WINDS TO 55 MPH OUT AHEAD OF THE STORMS. |

AUGUST 23RD CHILDRESS COUNTY STORM
ON THURSDAY AUGUST 23RD A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE STORMS WAS FORECAST FOR PART OF TEXHOMA MAINLY NORTH OF A LINE FROM CHILDRESS TEXAS TO LAWTON OKLAHOMA TO OKLAHOMA CITY. AN OUTFLOW BOUNDARY FROM STORMS THE PREVIOUS NIGHT IN KANSAS WAS EXPECTED TO BE DRAPPED ACROSS NORTHERN OKLAHOMA AND THEN SOUTHWESTWARD INTO THE TEXAS PANAHANDLE ALONG WITH AN APROACHING UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE FROM THE WEST. AT 3PM A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH WAS ISSUED FOR PARTS OF TEXHOMA MAINLY INCLUDING CHILDRESS BECKHAM WASHITA HARMON AND GREER COUNTIES. SEVERE STORMS FORMED IN THE PANAHANDLE RAPIDLY AS WELL AS NORTHERN OKLAHOMA. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING WAS ISSUED FOR CHILDRESS COUNTY AS A STORM TO THE NORTHWEST MOVED SOUTHEAST TOWARDS CHILDRESS. THIS STORM SHOWED SOME SIGHNS OF ROTATION AND DID SPAWN A WEAK TORNADO.
